How to Import Hideouts

A quick step-by-step guide to getting custom layouts into your game.

Download the File

Find a layout you love on Path of Hideouts and click the 📂 Download .hideout button. This will download a tiny .hideout file to your computer.

Save the File

You can save this file anywhere on your system, but we recommend keeping them in the default Path of Exile directory for easy organisation:

Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\Hideouts

*Tip: Because the game opens a standard file browser, importing directly from your Downloads folder works perfectly fine too!

Import In-Game
  • Ensure you are in the correct Base Layout. You can change this by speaking to Helena (PoE 1) or Alva (PoE 2).
    PoE 2 Shortcut: You can also Ctrl + Left-Click the hideout icon in the waypoint interface to swap bases!
  • Open the hideout edit menu at the bottom of your screen.
  • Click the Import button.
  • Locate the file you just downloaded and click open!
Missing Decorations?

If the layout utilises premium MTX decorations you do not own, those specific items will simply be skipped during import. The rest of the hideout will still load perfectly!

Note: If you are missing a decoration you know you own, it may currently be placed in a different hideout base. You will need to reclaim it from that hideout before it can be imported here.
